Comedian Jay Leno loves his cars, as we all know, and the most powerful Chevrolet hypercar ever made blew him away, and led to a bold claim after it was delivered to his garage.
Leno ordered the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X a while ago, and it was recently delivered to him. His latest video on the Jay Leno’s Garage YouTube channel is an infectious watch.
The former chat show host was left in awe of the car, and he even proclaimed he was ‘not worthy’ of such a machine.
Watching Leno cruise around in this amazing car will definitely put a smile on your face.
This is why Jay Leno loved the Chevrolet hypercar
“This car is less than the sales tax on any European exotic, Ferrari, Lamborghini, whatever,” said Leno.
A starting price of just over $200,000 is just one reason he quickly fell in love with the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X.
“For this kind of performance, it’s the greatest high-performance deal in history,” he added.

Under the hood is a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, paired with an electric motor.
Combined, they produce 1,250hp and 953lb-ft of torque.
That is Bugatti Veyron, Chiron, and Mistral territory, for a fraction of the price.
Of that power, 187hp comes from the electric motor alone.

Mark Reuss, President of General Motors, joined Leno as he took delivery of the car.
“We want to set records at most of the tracks in America, and we’ve done that,” he said of the car’s speed.
It is a sensational car, but what is it like to drive?
This is the bold claim Leno made about the Corvette ZR1X
Leno took the car out for a drive in the second portion of the YouTube video.
“Even on sport mode, I don’t find the ride harsh at all; it’s very relaxed,” said the comedian.
“I like to buy American stuff when I can, and this is a classic example,” he added.

Driving the car left him with a huge smile on his face.
In fact, that led to a bold claim from the comedian.
“I find it to be the performance bargain of the century, it’s half the price of the Mustang GTD,” he stated.
But he had an even bigger claim for the car.
“This is just the greatest American car,” Leno said towards the end of his video.
The speed, the power, the ride, and the quality of the car are why Leno decided it was worth paying full price.
That is a big endorsement for this epic Chevrolet hypercar.
