Jay Leno tried towing a Tesla Semi using another Tesla Semi, and the result was impressive.

Former chat show host Leno has been using Teslas for a long time, and he’s tried every available model, including the first-gen Roadster.

He also drove the Semi, Tesla’s long-haul truck, and he loves it.

He thinks this truck could mark the start of a revolution.

Why Jay Leno is so impressed with the truck

Jay Leno has tested different EVs and Teslas on many occasions, including the all-new Model Y Juniper, which he drove before anyone else.

He tried towing a Tesla Semi with another Tesla Semi on his YouTube channel, Jay Leno’s Garage.

The truck managed to pull tens of thousands of pounds without any problems, and there’s more.

It also uses automatic regenerative braking to store and recuperate energy, which means everything, including braking, is smoother.

This is something Jay Leno certainly noticed, and it was probably the thing that impressed him the most.

“Even braking, it doesn’t feel like I’m pushing a big load behind me,” he said.

He also thinks that the truck’s styling could become some sort of a blank canvas for truckers and for brands that are going to use this truck.

This is because the shape is different, and obviously there’s no front grille.

About the Tesla Semi

Tesla Semi was unveiled as a concept vehicle was unveiled in 2017, and production started in 2022.

The new Semi is more efficient than an equivalent gas truck, but faster.

It starts at around $180,000, and some big companies, Pepsi and Walmart for example, are already using theirs.

One of the key differences between the Semi and other Tesla vehicles is that the truck requires a different charging system.

Tesla calls it the ‘Megacharger‘, as opposed to ‘Supercharger’, which probably makes sense.

We’re talking about a 12-ton vehicle, after all.
