Owning a classic car may never be the same again. That’s what Jodie Kidd found when she got a closer look at a fully electric Jaguar XK.

The British car collector and television personality paid a visit to Lunaz’s Silverstone headquarters.

Lunaz has built its brand on redefining classic luxury cars from Rolls-Royce to Aston Martin.

But as Kidd discovered, the electric Jaguar XK was in a whole different league.

What was so special about this electric Jaguar XK?

Jodie Kidd has covered a lot of awesome cars on her YouTube channel Kidd in a Sweet Shop.

But in a recent episode, she got to spend some time with an electrified Jaguar XK, courtesy of Lunaz.

Lunaz is a British company that specializes in restoring and remastering cars from a whole host of brands, including Bentley, Land Rover, and Aston Martin.

We’ve covered some of their exemplary work before.

Among the cars we’ve seen was a flawless $1 million green and gold Aston Martin DB6, and a Jaguar with a $720,000 secret.

This time around, we’re looking at an electrified Jaguar XK.

Founder David Lorenz spoke to Kidd about the philosophy underpinning Lunaz’s ‘Remastered and Reimagined’ approach.

It’s always cool to see a classic car be transformed into an EV, putting a modern twist on an all-time favorite.

Kidd got to try out the XK120 for herself, but she had some trepidation about trying out as a self-described ‘purist’.

Would her concerns be proven right?

Would Jodie Kidd like Lunaz’s take on the classic car?

“[EVs] have become amazingly quick and powerful, but I find them a bit soulless,” Kidd admitted.

Could the Jaguar XK change her mind?

Basically everything about the car had been modernized, from the suspension to the AC and the brakes.

And that meant it was an easy car to drive – no spluttering or whirring to life when it was started up.

Not that this car is completely silent, like we’ve come to expect with a lot of EVs.

“You can really hear the whine,” Kidd observed.

“The handling and the steering feel very tight.”

This car was a perfect union of classic aesthetics and modern driving.

“We’ve tried to keep the soul of what the car was originally about,” Lorenz explained.

“But [we] also modernize all of the aspects that refine the vehicle to being a modern driving car as well.”

What was Kidd’s ultimate verdict?

“I’m completely blown away, I really am,” she gushed.

“Because you have kept that soul. You’re bringing them back so that people can see them and make them modern, which is such a lovely thing.”
