In this recently resurfaced clip, Johnny Cash demonstrated the unusual way in which he entered his Ferrari 308.

The singer was known for being a tall man, standing at over six feet.

As you might expect, this led to some challenges when it came to accessing low cars like the Ferrari 308.

In this 1988 clip, Cash demonstrated how he accessed the car – and let’s just say, it’s not the most dignified approach.

You won’t believe how Johnny Cash entered his Ferrari 308

When you think of the late Johnny Cash, two things may come to mind.

The first is obviously his legendary music career, during which he sold more than 90 million records and became a music icon with songs such as Ring Of Fire, I Walk the Line, and Jackson.

But you may also recall that he was a big car fan.

There was his Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, bought for his birthday back in 1975, which still looked incredible all these years later.

But that was just the tip of a very big iceberg, which included vintage cars, motorcycles, and historic memorabilia, all stored in his private garage.

One car in his collection was the Ferrari 308, which sat very low to the ground.

For a man of Cash’s stature, this posed a problem.

Getting in and out of a car can be a delicate operation at the best of times, let alone when the car is barely off the ground and you’re of considerable height.

In the video, Cash opened the car door and then lowered himself to the ground, essentially pulling himself in.

It wasn’t quite a crawl, but it wasn’t much better.

Then he demonstrated how he exited the car, which was definitely a crawl.

Whilst it wasn’t the textbook standard of ‘cool’, the clip still earned Cash some brownie points online.

How the internet reacted to this hilarious clip

Over on Reddit, people in the Ferrari sub-reddit had a lot to say about it, with some expressing empathy with the late singer.

“As a 6. lad, this was my biggest fear,” one person wrote.

“Johnny Cash was the man,” another commented.

That’s how you know you’re a legend – when the sight of you crawling out of a Ferrari doesn’t dent your street cred.

He’s not the only celebrity to struggle with cars due to his stature.

Shaquille O’Neal, measuring in at more than seven feet, has had to modify several cars at this point.

Tall people’s problems, we guess.
