This Kansas YouTuber built a badass supercharged jet boat from scrap metal and it rips.
Westen Champlin is no stranger to ambitious projects and this was no different.
Estimating that it would take a week to build, it ended up being a longer endeavor.
But once it got out on the water, it was totally worthwhile.

Westen Champlin is the guy who drove a mini-truck with a shed on the back of it through Alaska, and put blades on his Corvette then took it out onto a frozen lake.
But how would things pan out once he took a home-made supercharged jet boat to water?
Given that he admitted to not knowing how to build boats, it’s no surprise that it was a rocky process.

Calling in a more experienced friend, they managed to get things on the road – or on the water, so to speak.
The noises that were coming out of the boat sounded promising.
“Dude, let’s cross all our f***ing fingers, but it actually seems like it’s running alright!” Champlin shouted.

There was a brief moment of panic when water ended up in the boat and Champlin thought they were sinking.
But other than that, the project could be deemed a success.
“For 10 glorious seconds, it was ripping!” he declared.

Other DIY projects that took things to the next level
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an ambitious DIY project.
One woman built a camper from scratch in three weeks, whilst another gave her Honda Civic a ‘hot girl summer glow-up’.
There’s no limit to what you can do when you take a bit of a risk on a wacky idea, and no one knows that better than Westen.
Except for maybe the guys from the Whistlin Diesel channel, who are responsible for all manner of crazy experiments, including putting a Tesla Cybertruck up against a Semi truck in a tug of war for the ages.
