Kia has officially released its first electric van – the PV5 – in the European market, and it comes with a pretty reasonable price tag.

The PV5 is the first electric van from Kia, and also the first major launch from its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) initiative.

PBV is centered around flexibility, and that’s very evident in the PV5 thanks to its modular design.

The marque opened pre-orders for the PV5 in the UK earlier this year, and now it’s rolling out to more markets.

The Kia PV5 electric van is ‘unboxed and ready to face the world’

The PV5 electric van was unveiled alongside the EV2 and EV4 during the 2025 Kia EV Day back in February.

The van has two base models: Passenger, designed for everyday use, and Cargo, designed for businesses.

Pre-orders for the EV kicked off in the UK earlier this year, with a starting price of $37,500 for the Cargo version and $44,000 for the Passenger model.

Now, Kia has opened up pre-orders in several other European countries, including France, Belgium, Sweden, and Germany.

It will have a similar price tag as the UK, with the Passenger priced at $45,000 in Germany and $46,300 in France.

In a post on social media, Kia Sweden shared a short clip of the new electric van with a caption that read: “Unboxed, washed, and ready to face the world!”

Both models come with an option of two battery packs: a 51.5kWh one and a 71.2 kWh option, the latter of which offers up to 258 miles.

As yet, the PV5 has only been released as the two base models, but Kia has previously revealed plans to introduce a much larger range, including a top-of-the-range Prime version, a Light Camper, and an Open Bed.

As yet, it’s unclear if the PV5 will be coming to the US.

Kia is working on a truck for the US market

Although it’s not yet known if the PV5 electric van will make its way to the US, the South Korean brand has previously revealed it is working on a pickup truck for the American market.

CEO Ho Hung Song said the Kia Tasman wouldn’t be introduced in the States, but that instead the marque was working on a truck specifically designed for the US market.

It’s been suggested that the new truck could be an EV – so watch this space.
