The Aston Martin DB6 is truly a ride fit for royalty, and you can tell that because even King Charles owns the iconic British sports car – only his runs on cheese and wine…

Our cars might run on fossil fuels, but the British monarch is a bit more savvy with his fuel.

Rather than using oil shipped in from around the world, King Charles uses a lovely Sauvignon Blanc and a wheel of mature cheddar – maybe even a Wensleydale on a weekend – to power his DB6.

What the heck are we on about? You can be forgiven for being confused, but it turns out that King Charles’ Aston Martin DB6 has been specifically modified to run on a different oil consisting of waste cheese and wine.

King Charles might not seem like your average petrolhead, but the monarch does seem to have a taste for upper-class cars.

His multi-million dollar collection of vehicles was just bolstered by a $200k Lotus, having already included a lavish private jet, a 1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante, an everyday Jaguar I-PACE, a $460k Rolls-Royce gifted to him by the King of Bahrain, and an Aston Martin DB6 MkII Volante.

The latter of which was a gift from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, back in 1972.

Over the years, though, King Charles has had it modified to align more with his planet-saving ethos, changing the fuel line to allow for E85 fuel, rather than the E10 that 99 percent of UK and United States gas pumps offer.

It turns out the E85 is made from cheese and wine, which would be in ample supply down at Buckingham Palace.

The gas is actually made with leftover white wine and whey (a byproduct of cheese making).

So, rather than dining on melted dinosaur bones, the Aston Martin DB6 eats and drinks like a king should.

Produced by a British company called Green Fuels, the E85 fuel is much better for a car and the planet, being made from waste materials and not producing as many tailpipe emissions, while using less oil.

King Charles very much has a green thumb, often throwing support behind his friend David Attenborough and showing endless favor to planet-saving causes.

A self-professed environmentalist, King Charles has pioneered organic farming and action to prevent climate change so much that he is often dubbed the ‘Green Monarch’.

It makes sense that he would want to make all of his ICE cars as clean as possible.

The Aston Martin DB6 isn’t much of a daily driver, as the King is often spotted in his electric cars in the modern day, but it has made a number of public appearances.

Most notably, he lent the car to Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, to depart from Westminster Abbey on the day of their wedding in 2011.
