These cars really are fit for royalty – King Charles III’s most expensive cars are Golden Jubilee Bentleys worth over $12 million each.
Technically, these cars weren’t built for him – they were built for his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
They were rolled out back in 2002 for her Golden Jubilee celebrations.
As the only two of their kind in the world, these are some exceptionally special cars.
When you’re a royal, you’re bound to have expensive taste in cars
At one point or another, we’ve all fantasized about what we would do if we were a monarch.
For some, the idea of a palace is enticing enough, but others might have their minds on a material possession of a different kind altogether.
That being a slick set of wheels.
While monarchies may not be as numerous as they once were, the remaining royal families know how to drive in style.
The Sultan of Brunei’s $5 billion car collection is what dreams are made of, while the Emir of Qatar is very much in the same league, with a stunning collection of cars.
Westwards, the British Royal Family is holding its own when it comes to car collections.
And nobody exemplifies that better than the current monarch, King Charles himself.
Inside the car collection of King Charles III
As you might expect from a British monarch, Rolls-Royce features prominently in the King’s collection.
That includes a a 1950 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV ($3.92 million), a 1962 Rolls-Royce Phantom V ($3.92 million), and a 1977 Rolls-Royce Phantom V1 ($1.71 million).
Alongside that is a Lotus Eletre (estimated to be $184,000), a Jaguar I-PACE (estimated at $92,000), an Audi e-tron (approximately $65,000), and a BMW i7 (around $217,000).
And then there’s the cars that have been gifted to him from other royals – how does a $410,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II sound as a coronation gift?
Two cars in the collection of King Charles III are particularly extravagant
It’s stiff competition when it comes to choosing the fanciest cars in the Royal Family’s collection.
But these two Bentley limousines would be worthy contenders for the top spot.
Built for the 2002 Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, these Bentleys are fully armored and prestigious in all the best ways.
How much the Bentleys are worth varies, based on where you’re getting your information from.
While CBS News puts their value at more than $12 million, MotorBiscuit puts the figure at a comparatively modest sum of $1.7 million.
Either way, these cars are as pricey as they are rare – they’re the only two of their kind in the world.
The cars are also equipped with flashing blue lights – two in the radiator grille and two mounted on the front bumper.
In 2024, the cars were switched over to biofuel in a bid to be more environmentally friendly, Autoevolution reported.
We can only imagine that the King – who has a car that runs off cheese and wine – gave this eco-conscious move his full approval.
