Lamborghini has unveiled a new futuristic concept car – the Manifesto.

This car was unveiled during a 20th anniversary celebration of Centro Stile, its in-house design center.

In a plethora of ways, this car is a total departure from what we’ve come to expect from the Italian manufacturer.

But if this Lamborghini concept is anything to go by, the future of supercars looks very exciting indeed.

The Manifesto – a Lamborghini like you’ve never seen before

Recently, Lamborghini celebrated the 20th anniversary of Centro Stile, its in-house design center.

To mark the occasion, a futuristic concept car was unveiled – the Lamborghini Manifesto.

Car names usually have some meaning behind them, and this car is no exception.

Oxford defines a manifesto as a ‘public declaration of policy and aims’.

While we’re usually used to hearing it in a political context, the Manifesto does set out its aims – albeit in a different way.

It’s laying down the design philosophy of the brand going forward.

The Manifesto has triangular headlights, Y-shaped taillights, and a whole lot of sharp edges.

There’s no disputing that this looks like a car of the future.

“Yesterday marked for us a wonderful day and evening. We’ve celebrated more than 20 years of the existence of Centro Stile Lamborghini,” Mitja Borkert, Design Director at Centro Stile Lamborghini, said.

“Proudly supporting with a visionary sculpture ‘Lamborghini Manifesto’ showcasing the potential future of our unique Design DNA.

“I want to thank [Lamborghini] from my heart to make this event happen. And everyone who came to see and celebrate with us.”

The concept car – a window into the future

Concept cars are often made to show off a manufacturer’s capabilities.

But these cars also serve as a window into the potential future – what do the carmakers wish to push going forward?

And if these concepts are anything to go by, the future of cars will be interesting to say the least.

There’s the Mercedes AVTR, which ‘breathes’ and isn’t driven with a steering wheel.

Then there’s Cadillac’s incredibly futuristic concept, which looks straight out of a sci-fi movie.

But sometimes concept cars are made for entirely different reasons.

These concept cars were made to decay, to make a point about sustainability – one made from wood, and one grown from seeds.
