Lily Allen and David Harbour are selling their $8,000,000 Brooklyn townhouse, where maximalism and New York cool come together beautifully.
Amidst the fallout from the stinging break-up album, West End Girl, and a public separation, this stunning home has gone up for sale.
It was purchased for $3.35 million back in 2020, shortly after the pair tied the knot in Las Vegas.
Although the marriage hasn’t stood the test of time, this Carroll Gardens property is timeless.

Taking a closer look inside the Brooklyn townhouse that Lily Allen and David Harbour called home
To design their dream house, Lily Allen and David Harbour enlisted the help of architect Ben Bischoff and designer Billy Cotton.
What they created could only be described as larger than life.
The home draws on three distinct themes – traditional English, modern Brooklyn townhouse, and layered Italian.

Whilst it was always going to be bold with these motifs in mind, the designers still wanted a homey vibe.
And on that front, they certainly delivered.
Crystal chandeliers adorn practically every room, most of which are decked out in beautiful floral wallpapers.

The house is somewhere between the set of Bridgerton and a New York penthouse in terms of interior.
If there’s one thing you definitely can’t say about this place, it’s that it’s plain.
“Lily is the one who really set the tone and drove the program. Every time I tried to make it calmer, she kept pushing and pushing for more,” Cotton told Architectural Digest.

We usually wouldn’t be accustomed to using the term ‘flower power’ to describe a house, but here it certainly fits.
Almost every room is decked with flowers, whether it’s the carpets, the curtains, the wallpapers, or the pictures on the walls.
One outlier to this trend seems to be the kitchen, filled with Plain English cabinetry and set against an Ann Sacks-tiled backsplash.

A fireside media room also veers away from floral to embrace tiger print – and that room backs out onto a backyard with a Finnish sauna and cold plunge.

How much is this house going for?
The house has gone up for $8 million, which is a hefty price for sure – even higher than the average house price of $1.9 million for the Carroll Gardens area.
It’s not clear which house either Allen or Harbour will be moving into next, but it doesn’t seem this Brooklyn gem will be forgotten anytime soon.
In her title track of her new album, West End Girl, the singer made mention of the house: “Now I’m looking at houses with four or five floors / And you’ve found us a brownstone, said ‘You want it? It’s yours’ / So we went ahead and we bought it / Found ourselves a good mortgage / Billy Cotton got sorted / All the furniture ordered.”

She described it as a ‘palace on the perfect street’ in another song, so it’s evidently got a special place in her heart.
It’s a shame that things didn’t work out, but hopefully someone else will make this beautiful home their own in due time.
There’s something really appealing about getting to look inside luxury houses, isn’t there?

Whether it’s this $40 million Scarface mansion out in California or Sean Connery’s art deco Riviera estate, we can’t get enough of these high-end houses.
And the ones that incorporate cars into their interior decor? Even better.
Any house that can have a Ferrari parked beneath the bookcase is good in our books.
