These guys found an abandoned garage in Ohio with one of the lowest-mileage Corvettes – a 1978 Chevy Corvette to be exact – in the world.
An original 1978 Chevy Corvette with only 1,599 miles from new, this car hasn’t been touched in 45 years.
And it kind of shows.
But you’ll be shocked to see just how good it looked after a wash.

One of the lowest-mileage Corvettes in the world
The guys from the WD Detailing YouTube channel found one of the lowest-mileage Corvettes in the world, a 1978 Chevy Corvette with only 1,599 miles on the clock.
In theory, that’s about 35 miles every year, but in practice, this car was probably driven for about 1,600 miles when it was new in the first couple of years and then abandoned.
Based on the data they could find, the YouTubers say this car hasn’t really left this abandoned garage in Ohio in the last 45 years.

The car was covered in what appeared to be a thick layer of dirt and grime, but after a thorough wash, it looked almost as good as new.
WD is arguably the best at this
Several YouTube channels pioneered content that revolves around car restoration, but the guys from WD Detailing took a completely different and original approach.
Their idea is to showcase the huge difference a simple wash can make.

The team has plenty of experience when it comes to restoring cars and supercars to their former glory, and they always start with a wash.
They’ve done that with classics such as this abandoned Ferrari 512BB and a long-forgotten Honda Acura NSX.
More modern cars, or even older vehicles, have been given the WD treatment, like the Mercedes that had been abandoned in a factory for ages.
It sounds like a relatively simple idea, but no one had ever thought of that before.
