After thirty years of burning rubber with the help of a petrol engine and metal pedals, one loyal gas car driver has now shared their ‘big surprise’ after switching to EV.

Gas cars have left the world in quite a warm and uncomfortable state, being one of the biggest contributors to global warming.

Hence, the EV era. In a bid to clean our footprint, EVs have come to the rescue to provide a much healthier way to drive, and it’s finally enticing even the most loyal gas car drivers to join in the great cleanse.

Now, one driver has claimed that they had a ‘big surprise’ after finally switching to EV.

Switching to EV leaves one loyal gas driver stunned

Over on the r/electricvehicles subreddit, one car enthusiast shared their excitement and ‘surprise’ new-found love of driving after switching to EV thirty years later.

The user named ‘trajmahal’ revealed that they used to love driving, causing down the interstate with their CDs cranked up.

But the pressures of climate change in the modern era have converted this love to disdain and even hatred of driving gas cars.

Now, after 30 years, they have stepped into the buzz of a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and have found to be overjoyed.

“I have woken up every single morning since, all week, excited to drive,” they said.

“I love the trip. I come home happy. We’re trickle-charging at home, and can’t imagine having it any other way—which is a big surprise! We were sure we’d need to convince our landlord to let us instill a faster home charger. Nah.”

The only thing EVs can’t do is roll back the years… or the records

With gas cars quickly becoming a distasteful relic, aside from the vintage collector items and industrial vehicles, the only comparative flaw with the EVs is a lack of spinning records.

The driver added: “Honestly, the only thing I miss is a CD player!”

With the size of the batteries in EVs, the myth of depletion while using an aux or USB phone connector has quickly been busted, and given this driver is moving forward to a greener car life, maybe it is time to ditch the discs for a bit of Spotify Wrapped too.

Other EV converts did agree that the chirked gnawing sensation of damaging the planet had injected love back into driving, with longer road trips becoming a trend again.
