The Lucid Gravity just showed what an electric SUV can do in a straight line, running the quarter mile faster than a Lamborghini or a Porsche.

Independent testing clocked its time at 10.6 seconds, with a top speed of 140mph across that distance.

That result makes it the fastest electric SUV ever measured in the quarter mile.

But the raw numbers only tell part of the story.

Lucid Gravity proves it on the track

Lucid Gravity Dream Edition hit 30mph in 1.4 seconds, reached 70mph in 3.7 seconds, and cleared 100mph in under six seconds.

The quarter mile time of 10.6 seconds placed the electric SUV ahead of the Lamborghini Urus Performante and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, both of which recorded 11.2-second runs.

It also came close to the Corvette Z06 and pulled ahead of it in the sprint to 150mph.

The Lucid Gravity uses two electric motors and produces 1,070 horsepower with 909lb-ft of torque.

That’s significant output for any SUV, especially one built for family use.

What stood out in the test results wasn’t just initial acceleration but how the EV performance continued beyond 60mph.

Many large electric SUVs lose momentum at higher speeds, but the Gravity maintained strong pull deep into triple digits.

This is Lucid’s second model after the Air sedan and its first entry into the electric SUV segment.

The Gravity tested was the Dream Edition, which sits at the top of the lineup.

It features three rows, room for seven, and a layout designed for practicality, but the performance metrics put it in the same conversation as sports cars.

Sales haven’t caught up yet

Despite strong numbers on paper, Gravity production is still limited.

According to sales data, just 70 units were delivered in the first half of 2025.

Lucid has not confirmed exact figures by model, but the company has said that the rollout will be slow as manufacturing scales up.

When it comes to EV performance, the Lucid Gravity currently outruns the Rivian R1S Tri Max, BMW iX M60, and Mercedes-AMG EQE53.

The Tesla Model X Plaid has yet to be tested under the same conditions, but it may be the only electric SUV that can challenge the Gravity in a straight line.

The Lucid Gravity has moved the benchmark for quarter mile speed in an electric SUV.

It highlights how far EV performance has come and adds pressure on competitors to match that pace.

Whether Lucid can maintain that momentum in sales, support, and production is the next test.
