When this luxury car dealer saw a customer wire a cool $250,000 to buy a new car, she couldn’t believe it – and had to ask what their job was.

Watching someone casually send a quarter of a million dollars for a supercar is already a moment.

But one luxury car dealer says the buyer’s day job was what really floored her.

The answer made her joke that she picked the wrong career path.

This luxury car dealer paid $250,000 ‘like it’s Venmo’

Sasha, a luxury and exotic supercar dealer who posts on TikTok, shared a story from the showroom that sounds like it belongs in a movie.

“I work with exotic cars, and people come in and wire $250,000 like it’s Venmo. And I asked what they do for work, and they say ‘Pokémon cards’. So clearly, I chose the wrong career path.”

The part that shocked the TikToker was how normal it seemed in the moment: a buyer moving serious money with zero fuss, then dropping a career that feels wildly out of place in a high-end dealership.

In the comments, plenty of people piled on with jokes about their own ‘professions,’ from changing lightbulbs to running a taco truck.

Sasha played along, but the internet’s bigger takeaway was simple: trading cards can apparently bankroll supercar money.

She never expected that it was Pokémon cards

As weird as it sounds, Pokémon cards can be big business, but usually only at the sharp end of the market.

The real money is in rare cards, limited releases, and pristine condition collectibles that have been professionally graded.

In that world, a tiny difference in condition can mean a massive price difference, and high grades like a PSA 10 can send values soaring.

This is not the first time we have seen supercars being bought with Pokémon cards, because the really good ones can fetch you a big chunk of change.

For most people, though, flipping Pokémon cards is more likely a side hustle than a full-time payday.

But for the select few who know the market, have inventory, and can find the right buyers, it can clearly be enough to walk into a dealership and treat $250,000 like pocket change.
