A Maine man has an incredible collection of 200 classic cars – and they’re all in pristine condition.

Car lover Peter Prescott began his collection years back and – at the time – had a very specific type of vehicle in mind.

He began by picking up a few old Fords, but not just any old Fords—specifically, Ford convertibles with flathead V8 engines built between 1932 and 1953.

See? We told you it was specific.

The epic collection focuses on the classics

There are some epic car collections out there, including this woman from the UK who has her very own private car cave crammed with quirky vehicles, classics, and supercars; or the British businessman known as ‘Mr Lock Up’ who owns more than 400 cars, including 24 Aston Martin Lagondas.

Meanwhile, in the US, Prescott has spent years amassing his carefully curated collection of classics.

His love of classics kicked off when he got his first car – a brand new 1959 Ford Galaxie with a black paint job and a red leather interior.

Not too shabby for a first car, right?

As he got older and achieved success with his own industrial pipe business, Prescott decided to start picking up a few old Fords.

He focused his attention on Ford convertibles with flathead V8 engines produced between 1932 and 1953.

Now, he has one of every single model of flathead V8 convertible Ford ever built – a total of 45 cars – which makes up the centerpiece of his incredible cool collection.

Alongside these cars, Prescott has a crammed collection of other stunners including some modern muscle cars; some trucks; big engine mid-1950s Fords; and a vintage supercharged 1937 Auburn Speedster.

He’s built his own display building to showcase the cars

And what makes Prescott’s impressive collection all the more remarkable is the fact that each car has been expertly restored and is ready to drive.

With his collection growing rapidly, Prescott said he struggled to find space to store them all.

“It wasn’t buying the cars,” he told News Center Maine

“It was storing the cars. You get two in the garage, then you get six and it gets tight in there. Then you get eight and you need another garage!”

He ended up with four buildings full of motors, before deciding to build his very own display building where his cars can be showcased as they deserve.
