Man bought a Chinese Land Rover replica for $12,000 but says when he replaces the branding no one will know the difference

This YouTuber bought a Chinese Land Rover replica for an extremely cheap price.

It looks remarkably close to the real thing, and he believes that if he replaces the branding for Land Rover branding no one will know the difference.

The ‘best fake’ has generated some backlash with the makers of the car being sued by Jaguar.

The content creator is pleased with his purchase and can’t wait to replace the branding.

$12,000 Chinese Land Rover

A YouTube account by the name Tha_Plug_Worldwide went semi-viral for their video on the Land Wind X7, a Chinese replica of the Range Rover Evoque.

He believes that his $12,000 replica is almost as good as the real thing and once he changes out the branding for official Range Rover branding, no one will be able to tell the difference.

The replica has a 2.8 turbo engine and a nine-speed transmission, showcasing fantastic Chinese craftsmanship on a car with a lot of bang for your buck.

How close is it to the real thing?

With it’s powerful turbo engine and it’s deluxe interiors, if you squint the Land Wind X7 could very much be a Range Rover, with the logo mimicking that of the font of the original.

The content creator was impressed by the interiors of the car which seemed to match a much more expensive vehicle.

When a brand new Range Rover Evoque is on the market it can go for up to $45,000, in this case it seems like a no brainer to buy one of these instead.

It seems that even Jaguar themselves believed that the Land Wind model is an exact rip-off of the Evoque and this is obvious, with them suing Land Wind in March 2019.

With this development, it has become a lot harder to get your hands on one of the Land Wind X7s, it might just be time to get a second-hand Evoque and save yourself the trouble.
