What’s really costing this Chevy Corvette owner $1,500 every month
The monthly car payment is the biggest factor, coming in at just over $1,100.
He typically rounds it up to $1,200 by paying a bit extra. Insurance adds another $200, bringing the fixed costs to $1,400 before accounting for anything else.
The remaining expenses come from fuel, maintenance, and general upkeep, pushing the total closer to $1,500 every month.
He said the cost of gas alone was significant.

With frequent driving and premium gas, he says he easily spends a few hundred dollars on gas each month.
These high running costs are standard for a high-performance vehicle, especially one that’s driven regularly.
On top of that, consumables like oil and tires come at a premium.
Oil changes require 10 quarts and cost well over $100 each time.
A single tire replacement can reach $700 too.

Though the car has been mechanically reliable, those regular expenses quickly add up.
Despite all of this, he notes the car’s value has held strong.
Even with added mileage, depreciation has been minimal.
He admits to overpaying slightly due to limited stock and excitement at the time of purchase, but believes the spec and condition justify the price.
The car payment might be steep, but in his case, it wasn’t a rushed decision. It was a calculated stretch.
Why the high running costs still make sense
The Chevy Corvette plays a role in his professional life, particularly for automotive content.
While it hasn’t featured as much in his videos as originally planned, he sees it as a necessary business expense.
Without that career angle, he admits the monthly cost would be harder to justify.
His breakdown also highlights a growing reality for buyers across the performance market.

Increases in finance rates, limited inventory, and rising fuel prices all contribute to high running costs.
Emotional purchases often result in long-term financial pressure. Still, for some, that trade-off is worth it.
For this Chevy Corvette owner, costing him $1,500 a month is just part of the equation.
The return isn’t only measured in speed or resale value. It’s in what the car represents and enables.
