This guy bought a Tesla Model 3 Performance EV with over 217,000 miles on it – without checking the battery first.

Now he’s finally run a proper test to see how much life it’s got left.

The results? Surprisingly decent.

The YouTuber behind ChargeheadsUK purchased what he says was the ‘cheapest Tesla Model 3 Performance in the UK.’

Snapping it up for £10,700 ($14,531), it was clearly a bargain too tempting to pass up – even if it meant buying it online, unseen, with zero battery info.

So with that kind of mileage, the question needed answering: just how healthy was the battery he’d gambled on?

To test it, he plugged in an OBD Link and fired up the Scan My Tesla app.

The reading: 60.4KWH of usable capacity remaining.

That equates to roughly 240 miles at full charge – impressive for a car with over 1,600 charging cycles.

Overall health came in at around 77 percent, which matched what the BCA auction had estimated when the car was sold.

So far, no nasty surprises. Just regular battery wear.

Here’s the shocker: 75 percent of the car’s lifetime charging has been through DC Superchargers. Just 25 percent came from slower AC charging.

Despite that, the battery was in surprisingly good condition. The cell balance was nearly perfect – a sign of healthy aging with no major faults.

Even more impressive: it had recaptured 23 megawatt-hours through regenerative braking. That’s more than the total it’s taken on via AC.

So much for the myth that Supercharging nukes EV batteries.

For a Tesla with over 217,000 miles and a Supercharger-heavy diet, this Model 3 held up remarkably well.

No weak cells. Decent range. Still fun to drive.

Just maybe next time… check the HVAC first.
