A man found a twin-turbocharged DeLorean DMC-12 sports car sitting outside for 40 years, and then spent the next six years trying to buy it.
YouTuber Not Normal Nick spent years trying to buy this DeLorean so he could bring the sports car back to life after four decades sitting around.
Its owner decided to park it up just one year after the Back to the Future film was released and only four years after DMC-12 production had finished.
While it has sat undercover for a few years, it took a lot of work to get this car fired up again.

What makes this DeLorean DMC-12 so special?
Several DeLoreans have been found rotting away over the years, but this one is particularly interesting.
There are a couple of reasons that make this particular car a little bit special.
Its owner had decided to fit a Twin Island turbocharged system to the car, upping the horsepower.
As standard, the DMC-12 only made 130hp.
However, the turbo upgrade means this one makes around 210hp, which is much more respectable.

While the YouTuber found it in a garage, Nick learned that it had spent most of the last 40 years outside.
The interior, therefore, wasn’t in the best shape and would need a lot of work to get it looking factory fresh.
The owners of the car also rejected Nick’s attempts to buy it for around six years.
Finally, though, he was recently able to purchase the sports car.
The DMC-12 finally ran again after 40 years
Getting the cult classic to run again wasn’t easy.
All the spark plugs needed removing, the cylinders needed oil, and the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel distributor was stuck.
We can also see in the video that the car has suffered from a few dents and dings in the bodywork.
There was some trepidation as to whether Nick could get the car running again.
A fuel distributor was incredibly sticky.
The YouTuber had to have the whole part rebuilt at a cost of $500.
But that persistence paid off as the video showed.
Nick did get the DeLorean to fire up again towards the end of the video, although it was running quite rough.
But that is the consequence of 40 years spent out in the open.
What matters is that there is life in this DeLorean DMC-12, whereas others have become nightmares.
Maybe it will get to go back on the road once more. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
