This man decided to lock his Ford F-250 Ranger XLT in a container for more than two decades.

And he decided to do this for two very different reasons.

Now, he has finally decided to open the container after more than 20 years.

And what he discovered after the passage of time left him stunned.

Ford F-250 Ranger locked away 20 years ago

Today’s story takes us all the way back to 2005.

And it stars an old Ford Ranger F-250 XLT truck.

The owner of said truck decided that he’d had enough of it.

So he decided to lock it away in an enormous shipping container.

You might be wondering why someone might decide to do something like this.

You might also be questioning why he simply didn’t sell it.

While we don’t know why the truck wasn’t sold, we do know why it was locked away.

The first reason was due to the truck being a pain to manage as a result of mechanical issues.

But the second (and arguably more important), was due to starting a family.

The Ford F-250 Ranger wasn’t the most family-friendly vehicle one could get.

These two factors combined to lead the owner to lock it away and forget all about it.

Fast-forward 20 years, and the owner finally decided to see what effect time had had.

But how badly had time ravaged his once-beloved truck?

Shockingly, the answer was…it hadn’t – at all.

Truck is preserved unbelievably well

The truck exterior showed minimal fading, probably because the container shielded it from weather and sunlight.

Even the interior is in supreme shape, with no evidence of mould or fading.

The guys from the WD Detailing YouTube channel gave it a good wash, and it now looks absolutely pristine.

What makes this even better is that the man’s decision to lock it away could prove to be a very smart decision.

It turns out that the Ford F-250 Ranger XLT is a very valuable (and much sought-after) truck.

Collectors absolutely love trucks such as this one.

Even though it might not be as valuable as the F-100, it would still be worth a pretty penny.

But the owner has made it clear that he isn’t interested in cashing in on his truck.

Instead, he wants to drive it and enjoy it once more.

We wish him the best of luck in helping his Ford F-250 Ranger enjoy a new lease on life.
