A man who rescued this abandoned 1960 Ford Starliner found a super cool surprise hiding under its blue paintwork.
The Starliner was a short-lived nameplate for Ford, with a production that ran from 1960 to 1961.
It was a variant of the better-known Ford Galaxie and was subsequently succeeded by the Galaxie 500 in 1962.
During its short but sweet production run, a little over 980,000 Starliners were produced.

With relatively few models made during the car’s production run, the Starliner is a pretty rare find these days.
Although they do occasionally pop up, urban explorers discovered one hidden away in this $3,000,000 barn find, and more recently, YouTuber FullSizeFord snapped up a sight-unseen 1960 hardtop variant that turned out to be rarer than he thought.

The 1960 Ford Starliner had been sitting for decades and was on the verge of being scrapped when someone spotted it and decided to try and find it a new owner by posting it online.
It eventually came to the attention of FullSizeFord, who snapped it up and decided to give it the full restoration the vehicle sorely needed.
The poor old Ford Starliner had clearly seen better days and had spent at least three decades off the road, having been last titled all the way back in 1995.
Thankfully, though, the vehicle was still in one piece, albeit one that was in dire need of some TLC.
As well as having surface rust and flaked, and peeling paintwork, the Starliner’s trunk had completely rotted away, and its interiors were in terrible shape.
It also needed a new gas tank, but the YouTuber and car lover wasn’t put off and set about carefully restoring the vehicle to its former glory.
He also made a very cool discovery: under the car’s blue paintwork was the original Orchid Gray, a pale purple color.
This colorway was a rare option on the Starliner, with only a handful painted in Orchid Gray, and even fewer likely to have survived through to today.
The Starliner also has its original interiors and numbers-matching 5.8-liter V8 engine, although it’s unclear if it still turns.
However, what we do know is that this stunning Starliner is getting a new lease on life, and don’t you love to see it?
