Man spends three weeks building airplane in garage so he can fly without a US pilot’s license

An American man spent three weeks building an Aerolite aircraft in his garage so he could fly it without a pilot’s license.

TikTok user mcfli_gyt posted a video on his account of him flying the light aircraft, with his wife filming his first takeoff in the plane.

Having had many questions about the plane, the TikTok user also posted extra videos that went into more detail about it.

Amazingly, this is an aircraft that you can buy on Facebook Marketplace for less than $10,000.

The light aircraft is not expensive to buy

Despite what you might think, the pilot of the aircraft reveals it’s not expensive to buy.

The aircraft is called the Aerolite 103, and he says he has seen them on Facebook Marketplace for as little as $8,000.

Brand new from the factory and ready to fly, the aircraft will cost $35,000-$40,000 to purchase.

As it is classified as an ultralight craft, anyone can fly the Aerolite 103 – because you don’t need a pilot’s license.

He also states that you don’t need a pilot’s license to fly the aircraft as long as the weight stays below 250lbs.

When it comes to flight time, mcfli_guy says he gets just under 45 minutes out of the small aircraft before he comes into land.

Engine size and power can affect the maximum altitude of the Aerolite

In terms of how high the plane can fly, that can depend on a whole host of factors.

The most notable of those is the engine and the amount of power that it produces.

The more power, the higher it’ll go.

But if the engine is heavier, that may also affect its maximum altitude.

The Aerolite isn’t the fastest, with a top speed of just 70MPH.

But it’s perfect for short pleasure flights at the weekend if the weather is nice.
