After using his Model Y to tow a boat out of a lake in Nebraska, this man was full of praise for Tesla.
Out of the Tesla fleet, it’s the Cybertruck that usually does the pulling.
But the best-selling Model Y is used by thousands more people, and its strength has now been put to the test as a makeshift truck.
Mimicking its bigger brand relation, this Tesla Model Y left its owner full of compliments.

Tesla Model Y tackles towing with ease in Nebraska
The Tesla cars aren’t best known for their towing capacity.
In fact, it’s often regarded as the Cybertruck’s worst quality, losing a lot of range despite having immense pulling power.
But the EV has proven that it’s a worthy machine for dragging cargo – it pulled a boat out of the water with ease before carrying it home.
YouTube personality Chad Carlson showcased just how seamlessly the Model Y handled the load in a short upload.

The speedboat was driven onto a trailer, attached to the Model Y, which was submerged and then fished out.
But with a heavy load and quite a steep hill start, the EV simply didn’t even notice it was carrying a tonne on its rear end and zipped off.
The Nebraska native heaped praise on the car.
“Super impressed with the power and ease,” he said.
“I couldn’t even tell I was pulling anything. Thank you Tesla team for an incredible EV! I couldn’t be more excited about the vehicle.”

Although the Cybertruck is finally getting some help on the towing front, it’s clear that power isn’t the brand’s problem across the board.
Other Model Y owners have even proven that the popular car can maintain a decent range with heavy loads attached.
Still, it’s no match for the ultimate towing EV.
