Why the man who used all 111,600 of his Tesla credits at once thought he’d messed everything up for everyone

This man had accumulated more than 100,000 Tesla credits after he’d referred more than 300 people to buy a Tesla.

Jack Massey Welsh was riding high with his 111,600 Tesla credits, but that came with a pressing question – what to spend them on?

They were due to expire soon, so he needed to make a decision before it was too late.

But when he used them all up at once, he thought he’d made a big mistake.

What did this YouTuber spend his 111,600 Tesla credits on?

Under the program, each referral gives the buyer a $666 discount and the referrer $333 credits.

Jack had the equivalent of $6,330.

Now, if you’ve paid a visit to a Tesla dealership recently, you’ll know full well that this won’t even touch the sides when it comes to cars – whether it’s the Cybertruck or the Roadster.

But there are plenty of goodies to choose from – wall connectors, wheel-cap kits, roof racks, carbon-fibre wheel kits, and pet liners.

Over in the lifestyle section, he had his fill of t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and sweaters.

A lot of it felt unnecessary, but the credits needed spending.

He also redeemed some supercharging miles – 3,000 miles for 5,000 credits at first, and then another batch on top of that.

Even after all of that purchasing, he had 68,000 left.

So he bought another wall connector and used up the rest on clothing and merchandise, with a plan to give some away to charity.

Things went wrong – but what had happened?

When everything had been ordered, it seemed like that’d be the end of the story, right?

He’d have his share of the haul, donate the rest to charity, and that’d be it.

But that’s not quite how things transpired.

A week after his big splurge, he went back to his referral link and found that he’d reached his ‘limit’.

“I thought this was a direct response from Tesla for me purchasing all this stuff,” Jack said.

“I thought maybe they were a bit annoyed about it.

“But I saw other Tesla YouTubers say their limit has been reached, so maybe it’s something they’ve done everywhere.

“I don’t know if I’m the catalyst that made them rethink things and maybe I’ve ruined it for everybody, or if it’s purely coincidental.”

But now we know how much you can buy with 111,600 Tesla credits – and it turns out to be an awful lot.
