Mate Rimac – who is clearly a proper car guy – just shared a new video of the V16 in the Bugatti Tourbillon.
The video showcases a Bugatti Tourbillon, with camo wraps, that accelerates from standstill to about a million miles an hour in the blink of an eye.
But the thing that stands out is the sound.
That’s because it’s even better than expected

The sound of the new Bugatti Tourbillon
We remember the consternation and worry when Rimac acquired Bugatti.
With a guy that made a name for himself with electric hypercars at the helm, everyone feared Bugatti might be electrified too.
That didn’t happen, though.
Mate Rimac himself, founder of Rimac and now CEO of Bugatti-Rimac, made it clear Bugatti will remain an internal combustion for the foreseeable future.

Years later, he followed through with his promise by unveiling the new Bugatti Tourbillon, powered by a V16 that’s bigger and more powerful than the outgoing W16.
Rimac has once again showcased the amazing sound of the engine with a post on his personal Instagram account, and it’s even better than we thought.
Check it out in the clip above, it’s truly worth the time.

What’s going on with Rimac
Most car companies started out with internal combustion and then transitioned towards electric power, but Rimac is doing the opposite.
After two electric hypercars, including the record-breaking Nevera, and a new robotaxi (below) on the way, Rimac opened up about the idea of building a gas car.

Mate Rimac explained this potential pivot by giving two reasons.
First, Rimac acknowledged that the demand for EVs in the luxury market just isn’t what it should be, and people who can afford to buy any car in the world want V8s or, in this case, V16s.
Second, he said that, for Rimac, it’s all about creating the best possible machine, and if they can do it with internal combustion instead of batteries, well, they’ll just do it.
