Only 25 cars in the entire world can make this extremely satisfying sound, and every single one of them is a McLaren Solus GT.

When it comes to supercars, it’s not just the aesthetics and speed specs that make fans and drivers fall in love with them.

It’s just as much a sound test as it is visual.

So as the McLaren Solus GT rolls around, it’s just as much about its melody as it is its melodramatics.

The McLaren Solus GT passes the sound vibe check

The McLaren Solus GT range is infinitely rare. Only 25 were ever made.

Supercar Blondie was previously lucky enough to be invited down to test the car out by one owner.

Our own Alex Hirschi – Supercar Blondie herself – sat behind the wheel of a volcano-orange Gran-Turismo-inspired Solus, which was the 13th supercar in this series.

All 25 cars come with incredible ranges of variable details.

Whether it is swapping out the magma hue for a sleek sky blue or typically race-inspired grey, changing its interior stitching to have each owner’s name imprinted (like was the case for F1 legend Mika Häkkinen), or the personalized molded seat primed for each buttock, not one Solus GT is the same as the next.

But there is one common factor.

As displayed by YouTube account ‘TheTripleFCollection’, the sound of its mechanics is extremely satisfying.

In a recent Shorts upload, they displayed the clicks of the gear changes, calling it ‘the most satisfying paddle shifter clicks that I’ve ever felt in my life’.

Others actually preferred the fighter-jet cockpit slider noise.

“Am I the only one who thinks the canopy sliding sound is way cooler than the shifter clicking?” one person said.

“It is so smooth with the sliding sound,” said a second.

But it’s nice to know that when so much focus is weighted on power and aesthetics, McLaren still knows how to make our simple minds sigh with satisfaction with tiny quips.

McLaren’s supercars continue to impress

Of course, these are not the only sounds that matter, and the roar of the engine is where true petrolheads will be sold.

Thankfully, the noise of the McLaren Solus GT is equally as harmonious at full throttle.

The YouTube account continued to show the audacious supercar in its prime whizzing around a track.

Following the Solus GT’s release, Bruno Senna said the car is ‘a whole different planet’.

“This is the closest you can get to a top-end race car,” he said.

“It’s friendly to drive but – definitely for people who buy it – they will need a coach.”

McLaren is continuing to knock its Ultimate Series out of the park as the first-ever Senna XP has hit the market.

Elsewhere in the Woking, UK, factory, the papaya-hued manufacturers are taking ‘brave risks’ on the F1 front.
