We all like to save money – so it’s no wonder that this mechanic was excited to discover a loophole that would cut costs on Bentley repairs.

YouTube mechanic The Car Wizard has done a whole lot of work on cars, so you’d have expected him to know everything there is to know about them at this point.

But it seems even he can be taken by surprise.

When he was working on this 2020 Bentley Continental GT, he discovered an incredible cost-cutting loophole.

This loophole would cut down the cost of Bentley repairs significantly

When you’re fixing up a car, you want to cut costs where you can – without sacrificing quality.

And that’s no different for YouTube mechanics.

The Car Wizard was fixing up a customer’s 2020 Bentley Continental GT when he came to a decision point.

He strongly advised his viewers against the W12 engine that’s found in many Bentleys.

Because the engine bay was so cramped, practically any repair would constitute an ‘engine-out’ procedure.

As you might imagine, this is both time-consuming and costly – a deadly combo in the world of mechanics.

Instead, this grand tourer had a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in place, meaning it had less horsepower but significantly more room in the engine bay.

Right there was a money saver.

But there was one additional perk that the Car Wizard wanted his viewers to know about.

He needed to fix a faulty thermostat that was causing the ‘Check Engine’ light to come on.

It was at this point that the Car Wizard shared that the Bentley V8 was essentially the same as an Audi engine.

And here’s the saving – a thermostat for an Audi engine was four times cheaper than the equivalent from a Bentley supplier.

That’s a huge difference in cutting the costs of Bentley repairs.

The Car Wizard has been working his magic for a while now

This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen The Car Wizard fixing a car problem as if he really did have a magic wand.

He’d previously fixed a 2013 Toyota Avalon with a $10 part – after four different dealerships had been left stumped by its issues.

He also took on a Chevrolet Malibu that was considered ‘possessed’ by its owner, and a 2002 Mercedes E320 that had fallen victim to coffee spills.
