A group of men stumbled across what looked like an abandoned Boeing 737.

Naturally, they went to check it out.

From the outside, it didn’t look promising.

But upon stepping inside, they realised it was much more than meets the eye.

Where this abandoned Boeing 737 actually came from

The aircraft the group from Horsepower Cartel explored sits in Khopoli, near Mumbai in India, parked just off a busy highway where it’s become a bit of a local curiosity.

At first glance, it reads like a forgotten plane left to decay, but that’s not quite the story.

Instead, the Boeing 737 has been repurposed as a tourist attraction, with visitors able to step onboard for around 100 rupees, which is just over a dollar.

It’s even used for events, including weddings, which gives you an idea of how accessible it’s become.

Over time, parts of the plane have been removed or resold, so it’s not a perfect, untouched aircraft

Still, the structure remains, and that’s what draws people in.

That context makes it even more interesting when you consider what the 737 represents.

It’s the best-selling commercial jet ever built, responsible for moving millions of passengers around the world every single day.

Seeing one parked up like this, far from any runway, already feels strange before you even step inside.

Inside the abandoned plane feels like stepping back in time

Once the group climbed inside, the mood shifted quickly.

What they expected to be stripped out and hollow instead felt oddly preserved.

The cabin still looks like a plane.

Seats are in place, the layout is familiar, and even the leather hasn’t completely lost its shape.

It’s not brand new, but it’s far from ruined.

Outside, the paint is fading, the metal is worn, and the once-bright stripe along the fuselage has dulled with age.

Inside, though, it feels like the clock stopped halfway through its life.

It gives the whole experience a slightly surreal edge.

For aviation fans or anyone passing through, it’s less about exploring something abandoned and more about stepping into a frozen moment that hasn’t quite caught up with reality.
