That’s exactly what Tavarish thought when he decided to turn his cheaply bought SL55 AMG into a ‘supercar killer.’

Finally, after an intensive modification, he turned the car more sportier, giving it a GT-like feel.

Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG turned into a ‘supercar killer’

Tavarish shared the entire process of customizing his car on his YouTube channel, where he regularly shares his love for the cars with his viewers.

One of the biggest changes he made was replacing the ABC Hydropneumatic suspension with BC coilovers, a more conventional setup, as he explains it.

These coilovers were similar to those on his Aston Martin, but they were stiffer, giving the car a sportier feel.

To make the car lighter and faster, he managed to shed about 130 lbs during the modification process.

Tavarish said he loved how the new suspension improved the ride quality, and we can actually see that in the video.

The car now had thirty-way adjustable coil overs, and body roll was better controlled by oversized sway bars.

Even though the original ABC suspension was decent, Tavarish found it a bit jerky during turns.

However, the new setup felt smoother and more refined.

An expensive modification but worth it

In addition to that, new engine mounts were also added, alongside the new bushings, that smoothened the moments between the various parts.

New brakes, rotors, and tires completed his ‘supercar killer’ modifications.

All these changes took about 4-5 days to complete and cost around $5,000.

While that might seem expensive, Tavarish believes it was a good bargain compared to the high maintenance costs of the ABC suspension.

Thanks to these modifications, Tavarish’s Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG had become a real contender on the road.
