A driver in Michigan updated his car software, but a glitch appeared within his Chevy, which sent him soaring back 55 years in time.
The driver was left confused when trying to update his car from the 2010s as he was greeted with a rather odd message on his screen.
You see, the car told its owner that the last update was actually much older than he anticipated.
Plus, once other drivers caught up with the situation, they were left confused, too.

This driver updated the car software in his Chevy, but it sent him back to 1970
Car owners near and far know the struggle of keeping their software and entertainment systems up to date and in sync.
Some updates can often be automatic, but some need to be prompted by drivers to kickstart and make a change.
From music systems to time zones, cars need to be kept in check to perform well and assist drivers out on the open road.
However, sometimes due to background issues, things can go slightly wrong, as one Chevy owner found for himself.
TikTok creator tastewithtrav documented his attempt to update his Chevy Equinox software.

“When your car was built in 2019, but the last checked update was 1970, that don’t add up, sunshine,” said the Chevy driver.
The message displayed in full said:
“Checking for updates. Last checked for updates on 1/1/1970 at 12:00 AM,”
“Something just doesn’t add up here,” the creator captioned his video.
The infotainment screen confused other gearheads online, too, and left them wondering why it was operating 55 years in the past.

“My GMC Terrain said this too,” remarked one driver.
“Oh man, I should check mine to see when the last update was, that’s crazy,” said another person.
“Rein-CAR-nation,” joked a third.

Chevrolet is a brand known by car enthusiasts far and wide, thanks to the variety of vehicles on offer.
From sports cars to big SUVs, the brand’s creativity knows no bounds.
For example, Chevrolet recently just casually dropped a 2,000hp Corvette in one of the wildest flexes we’ve ever seen.
Plus, we bet you didn’t know that you can buy this 650hp manual gearbox Chevy Corvette for less than a Toyota Tacoma.
You can catch the confusing update below.
