A Mini Cooper once completed a lap at the iconic Nürburgring track on two wheels – and it really needs to be seen to be believed.

Back in 2016, stunt driver Han Yue showcased a Mini like we’d never seen before.

He managed to drive around the 12.9-mile track using just two wheels.

The impressive feat was live-streamed on the official Nürburgring Facebook page and pulled in more than 200,000 viewers.

The Mini Cooper took on a very unusual Nürburgring challenge

We’ve seen some seriously impressive Nürburgring runs over the years, from blisteringly fast speeds from the likes of BMW, to Ford setting a new record after racing a Ford Transit around the track.

But we bet you’ve never seen anything quite like this Mini Cooper making its way around the track on just two wheels.

Driver Han managed to get the car up onto its side and stay there for the entire track.

No mean feat.

The challenge took 45 minutes 59.11 seconds, and was watched by tens of thousands of people via the Nürburgring Facebook page.

The challenge also earned Han a spot in the Guinness World Records for ‘Fastest side wheelie lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife (car)’.

“The Green Hell has lived up to its name,” Han told Guinness World Records after the event.

“It felt like I was dealing with all four seasons on the Nordschleife today. The wet track and the sunlight made for an even greater challenge.

“Now I’m just so happy. A long-held dream has come true for me on the Nordschleife.”

As you might expect, the Mini in question wasn’t your standard Mini Hatchback.

It had been specially modified for the task, and was kitted out with a roll cage, a racing seat and harness, and a set of solid rubber tires.

It wasn’t the first world record for the driver

The rather lengthy title of ‘Fastest side wheelie lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife (car)’ isn’t the only Guinness World Record Han has earned.

Alongside Bao Tengjin, he also held the world record for ‘Tightest gap driven through by two cars on two wheels’, after squeezing a car through a 4-foot 3.18-inch spot.

Unfortunately, he lost the title to someone else in 2016.

In 2014, he claimed the ‘Most donuts around a car driving on two wheels in one minute’ after racking up 10 with Zhang Shengjun, but he lost that title to the same guys who took the first, after they managed 12.
