A Redditor on the social media site has shared images of a sunken car left to rot on a beach, and it has gained considerable attention as people attempt to identify what the vehicle is.
A selection of images from Facebook shows parts of the vehicle lying in the sand and mud, with only a pair of wheels evident from the ground.
The replies to the Reddit post are full of speculation as to what it might be.
Various comments speculate as to what the car is – some are serious and some take on a more light-hearted approach.

The images reveal very little about the submerged car
The Reddit post contains four images; however, it’s clear why identifying the car is so difficult.
The images reveal a pair of wheels, the cross plys, and a few other components.
But any major bodywork parts, the rest of the chassis, and the other wheels are still hidden beneath the sand.
The tires themselves look like they still have air in them, while rust and nature have tried to reclaim as much of the old vehicle as possible.
Level: Impossible?

Unless an expert is able to find the site of the vehicle and study it closely, it is almost impossible to identify what it is.
A few other Redditors tried to guess, but some took on a humorous approach with their guesses.
Guesses on the car’s identity vary from serious to jokey
Some fellow Redditors have made serious attempts to guess what it is.
One user, Sockysocks2, said: “Well, it’s on cross plys, so we can assume it’s either a heavy vehicle like a truck or delivery van or something built before the eighties.”
User SJAZ303 waded in, saying: “I have absolutely no Idea, but the tires look like they’re Bias Ply, which were commonly used between the 1940’s and 1970’s, you can tell by the weird ribbing along the edge of the sidewall.

Others, though, had no idea at all, and there were some not-so-serious guesses about the beach mystery.
User Stodgey said: “With that level of rust, it’s probably a late 90s, early 00s Alfa Romeo.”
Redditor Gillespie1 simply replied with “Bugatti Veyron.”
It’s unlikely anyone will have any idea what this vehicle on the beach used to be.
However, it is fun speculating what used to be attached to these two wheels.
