This mystery car was discovered in a Texas field, but no one on the internet can figure out what it is.
A picture of this car was uploaded to Facebook, after a fan sent it to Undiscovered Classics.
The ‘metal sports custom’ was on sale in Houston, but it’d quickly been sold and disappeared.
It looked as it’d been left at the mercy of the elements, so people had a hard time identifying this car.

Can you identify this mystery car that had been left in a Texas field?
Undiscovered Classics shared the pictures on its Facebook page, admitting the team been left ‘stumped’ trying to identify the vehicle.
It looks very well done, but we can’t identify it as of now. Anyone out there know more or know of the car/buyer?” the page asked.
The blue car had clearly been sitting for a long while, as rust was all over the body.

Time hadn’t been kind to this car, let’s just say.
As a result, people had a tough time nailing down what kind of car this was.
Several suggestions were put forward by various commenters.
“1960 Nash Metropolitan is my vote,” one person wrote.

“Looks like a BMW 507 with modifications front and back,” another commented.
“Looks like an Austin Healey to me,” a third user suggested.
This was just the tip of the iceberg, as far as ideas went.
Nobody could agree on what this car was, so it got us wondering – was there a way to find out an answer?

Could ChatGPT solve this car conundrum?
When ChatGPT got a look at these pictures, it couldn’t give a conclusive answer, but it gave us an educated guess.
Or whatever the AI equivalent of an educated guess would be.
“This appears to be a 1950s–early 1960s small European sports car, likely British or Italian,” it said.
“Specifically, the clues point toward something like an Austin-Healey Sprite Mk I (‘Frogeye’/’Bugeye’) or possibly an early Fiat 850 Spider or MG Midget.”

ChatGPT said the Sprite Mk I seemed most probable, due to the shape of the wheel arches, the curved door, and the size of the car.
However, it’s not infallible, so there’s always room for someone to come forward with a definitive answer.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the internet collectively scratching its head over an unidentified vehicle.
We all remember that mystery car that had been sitting in a Canadian parking lot, right?
Usually, when a car mystery comes up, the make of the car isn’t what has people confused.
Take, for example, the case of the pink McLaren 570s parked outside a London hotel for years.
Similarly, a Shelby GT500 Eleanor led to some speculation after it was parked in the same spot for weeks.
