This Nebraska YouTuber flew a new ultra-light plane in Idaho, and it purred like a kitten.
If you can count on Cleetus McFarland for one thing, it’s that he’ll take on a big project.
Usually, he’s making his own cars and planes, but in this case, he wasn’t flying one of his own.
When he took the skies of Idaho in a new Turbo Carbon Cub UL, how would things go?

This Nebraska YouTuber took a ride in an ultra-light plane
The Turbo Carbon Cub was a brand new plane and it weighed in at 960Ibs.
This may sound like a lot on the face of it, but when you remember that the average biplane can weigh anything between 70Ibs and 3,000Ibs, you realize this is definitely on the lower end of the scale.
It features a Rotax916 turbocharged engine capable of 160hp, and is managed by a computer – no manual prop or mixture controls.

That’s all well and good, but here’s the crux of the matter; how does it handle when up in the air?
Well, suffice to say, it made a beautiful noise as it fired up.
There’s nothing quite like the sound of a old plane engine kicking into gear.
And it looked like it was totally at home as it cut through the air, before making a clean landing.
What did McFarland make of his ride?

“You know what’s so different? It’s so quiet in here,” he said, referring to the cockpit.
“I know, this thing purrs like a kitten,” his cameraman responded.
That sounds like an endorsement to us.
This is just one of many of Cleetus McFarland’s many misadventures
We’ve seen Cleetus McFarland get up to a lot of stuff over the years.
You might recall that he bought his own airport in Florida.
And that’s not the end of his aircraft related purchases, as he also snagged himself a jet from Facebook Marketplace.

Even when working on cars, he finds a way to bring jets into it, as happened when he experimented with jet fuel for his Ford Galaxie.
