A Nevada man has found a hilarious way to try and sell his boring and mundane Volkswagen Jetta on Facebook Marketplace, and it works ’99 percent of the time every time’.
Selling a banger can be quite the struggle.
Especially in the age of EVs, where people are doing almost everything not to buy a soon-to-be extinct ICE.
Still, one man from Nevada is giving it his all to move a Volkswagen Jetta, and the sales pitch wouldn’t be out of place on Shark Tank.

Facebook Marketplace allows for the average Joe to become their own version of Jordan Belfort, selling a pen to a whole room of business executives. Only it’s cars and people who don’t want to pay.
One man in Nevada, though, has harnessed his best sales techniques in an effort to make his second-hand car noticeable.
While he isn’t quite The Wolf of Wall Street, it certainly made a mundane Volkswagen Jetta stand out from the crowd.
With the help of Photoshop, this man took his Volkswagen Jetta on numerous high-octane adventures, including monster truck rallies and stunt shows where it flew over an array of cars.
Kind of.

The good old Photoshop job was met with a sales pitch of a lifetime, where ‘Old Reliable’ was described as ‘barely broken in’ despite 248,000 miles on the clock.
“Do you crave that diesel aroma paired with the ear-piercing noises of a turbo? Look no further,” said seller Ethan Craik.
All of the fun almost made us forget that this is a $3,500 Volkswagen Jetta with no AC, no driver’s door lock, and a broken fuel gauge. We nearly placed a bid during the write-up.
“If you’re looking for a car that’s got soul, and enough torque to keep you grinning, this chariot awaits you,” he added.

It wouldn’t be the first time that someone deployed some picture-tampering wizardry to pull a fast one when it comes to cars.
One woman enlisted the social media warriors to hoodwink her husband into thinking there was an issue with his Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. Varying pranks included a pink wrap and the engine being on fire.
At least the Volkswagen Jetta would be an honest car for any prospective driver, rather than this Lamborghini Diablo that is so fake it’s almost admirable.
