BMW’s new driving aid is a ‘superbrain’ that can reportedly read your mind and assist in making ‘risky’ manoeuvres.

Self-driving technology has become imperative to modern cars.

But with the likes of Tesla and Waymo going all in to make cars autonomous, other manufacturers are using the advancement in software to assist drivers and help them become the best drivers.

That’s what the new BMW driving aids aim to do, rather than simply drive for you.

New BMW driving aid is a step into the future

On one hand, self-driving technology has become a powerhouse. Just recently, a Waymo customer showcased the smart driverless cars avoiding a split-second collision.

However, some manufacturers believe that Tesla and Waymo autonomous vehicles are enough, and there isn’t enough appetite and trust in driverless cars to create more.

That’s where ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) come into play.

And BMW is leading the way in that regard with its new superbrain.

Developed for the new BMW Neue Klasse, the superbrain watches your eyes and movement to determine when manoeuvres are being performed and when it can assist in making that as safe as possible.

Already, the new tech is being praised for being one of the most user-friendly systems out there, and that’s because it can read your mind.

The superbrain is super friendly

Arguably, the worst part of ADAS in other cars is its incessant need to interrupt your driving – yes, we can see that car that we’ve been driving behind for eight miles, you don’t need to scream at us.

But, the best part about the new BMW driving aids is that the four-pronged superbrain doesn’t cause a kerfuffle every time it detects something.

That’s because it has been trained to understand ‘intent’ and won’t go ballistic when normal driving lines are manipulated.

Instead, it will simply help you stay safe when it recognizes that a change in direction is imminent.

Then, it will tell you about any hazards that might hinder your movement, and help you get through safely.

The new BMW driving aids are less intrusive and smarter than anything on the market, and its sure to be a hit with drivers who are fed up with endless beeps.
