Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the new Hyundai Elantra N TCR, and it’s heading to the US to try and give the Honda Civic a run for its money.

If you ever wanted the race car feel in a daily driver, then you’re in luck.

This limited edition car brings bigger brakes, a carbon wing, and forged wheels to the table.

And on top of that, it’s cheaper than the Honda Civic.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2026 Hyundai Elantra N TCR

The starting price for a six-speed manual version is $39,250, while the eight-speed wet dual-clutch automatic is somewhere around $40,750.

With Hyundai’s $1,245 freight charge in mind, a customer could be paying somewhere between $40,495 and $41,995.

The most obvious upgrade that comes with this Elantra is the carbon fiber swan-neck wing at the back of the car.

But it doesn’t stop there – the interior is decked out with Alcantara trim from the steering wheel to the shift knob and the armrest.

Each TCR Edition will be a familiar sight in one sense, though – they’ll carry Hyundai’s Performance Blue exterior.

Production is limited, but we don’t have exact numbers yet.

But even the word ‘limited’ is enough to set pulses racing for aviation fans across the States.

Because that equals one thing in the minds of many – exclusive.

At $7,000 cheaper than the Honda Civic Type R, this is a car that’s here to play.

When will we be seeing these cars hit the streets?

This car is set to hit US showrooms at some point in 2026, and we are totally stoked.

It’s safe to say that Hyundai has been riding high in recent months.

For one thing, it ended 2025 with some exceptional numbers in the states, moving 901,686 vehicles in total.

That’s an eight percent increase on the previous year, and the third record year in a row.

Then there’s the fanfare surrounding some of its other new releases.

The 2026 Venue has been praised for its affordability, available for $20,550 – making it the cheapest new car in America.

And not one to limit its scope, the company also made a mark in the EV sphere, too.

The STARIA Electric has nine seats up for grabs and can charge faster than most smartphones.

When you’re on a winning streak like this, you’d want to keep going, right?

Hopefully, the Elantra continues this stellar output.
