An American man from New Jersey has put a Cadillac Escalade IQ through an EV range test, and the results were much more impressive than he expected.
Journalist and YouTuber Tom Moloughney decided to conduct a thorough test of the EV and see how Cadillac’s newest electric car got on when it came to mileage.
Cadillac itself says the Escalade IQ can manage at least 460 miles on a single charge.
However, Moloughney was able to clock even more miles than expected, and it’s safe to say range anxiety shouldn’t be an issue with this car.

The Cadillac Escalade IQ beat its own EV range estimates
Moloughney aimed to see just how efficient the Cadillac Escalade IQ could be, based on the speed of the EV.
Rather than run the car at 70MPH, he decided to drop the maximum speed down to 60MPH.
This was to see if lowering the speed by 10MPH had a big impact on the car’s efficiency.
Cadillac claims the Escalade IQ can do a whole 460 miles on just a single charge.

Cadillac has done this with a huge 205kWh battery.
To put that into context, it’s twice the size of the battery in a Tesla Model X.
Officially, the SUV can go 50 miles more than a Rivian R1S and 100 miles more than the Model X.
Yet Moloughney was able to get over 600 miles out of the EV during his 60MPH tests.
Dropping the IQ’s speed by 10MPH was game-changing
The YouTuber and expert posted a table showing the data from the 60MPH range test.
Data also showed the 70MPH range test for the SUV.
At 70MPH, the Escalade IQ had a maximum range of 482.2 miles.
Yet by just dropping the speed down to 60MPH the car had an incredible range of 607.1 miles.
The fact that it boosted the range so much is truly astounding.
There are problems, however, with Cadillac and its big battery approach.
The amount of materials needed to produce such a large battery could be a problem.
It also takes a long time to charge such a large battery on a conventional home Level 2 charger.
But, you can’t be anything but impressed by the incredible range of the Escalade IQ.
