The upcoming Xpeng P7 EV has received a record-smashing 10,000 pre-orders in just six minutes and 37 seconds.

The all-electric sedan is set to be officially launched later this month.

Ahead of the launch, the carmaker opened pre-orders for the P7 in China on August 6.

And it’s safe to say, it’s got a lot of interest

The upcoming Xpeng P7 has received more than 10,000 pre-orders

Xpeng is becoming a class leader in China thanks to its range of affordable yet super luxe vehicles, like the $27,000 G7 that’s been touted as serious competition for the Tesla Model Y

The upcoming Xpeng P7 is no different, with a bold design that means it wouldn’t look out of place in a supercar line-up.

It will be launched with a choice of six exterior paints: silver, yellow, green, purple, gray, and blue.

The XPeng P7 also doesn’t shy away when it comes to performance.

The car will be available as either a high-performance model with 466 miles of range, an ultra-long-range variant that offers up to 509 miles of range, or a long-range 436-mile option.

It comes as either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with both sitting on an 800V high-voltage platform.

The RWD is good for 362 horsepower, while the ARD produces an impressive 586HP and has a 0-62mph time of 3.7 seconds.

The Xpeng P7 also supports 5C fast-charging, which can add around 325 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

As you might expect from a car with such impressive stats, the car is set to be a popular choice.

According to Car News China, the Xpeng P7 can be reserved for just $14, which is then taken off the purchase price when the car is released.

The P7 is hiding a giant surprise inside

While it’s easy to get caught up in the eye-catching exterior design of the P7, to appreciate the car in full, you need to take a peek inside.

The newly designed front dashboard holds a whopping 87-inch infotainment screen that uses augmented reality head-up tech that tilts to the driver’s eyeline.

Pretty impressive, we’re sure you’ll agree.

This savvy piece of kit first debuted in the G7, but has now been added bigger and better than ever before to the smaller electric sedan to assist the driver in an immersive driving experience.

So it’s little wonder the pre-orders for the P7 have been flooding in.
