The Nike Air Force 1 has been a streetwear staple for 40 years now, and the Oregon-based clothing giant is set to celebrate it with an upcoming Anniversary Edition model.
More noteworthy than the shoes though, is what’s set to come with the new limited-run pair: a toothbrush.
Yep, as these leaked photos by @chickenwop_ show, the limited edition kicks will come with a white toothbrush attached. It will also sport the Nike tick and the tagline “Since 1982” – the year the Air Force 1 was launched.
Rather than an advertisement for dental health, the toothbrush here is a throwback to the ’80s tool of choice for keeping your sneakers clean – something particularly important with the typically all-white Air Force 1.
This commemorative model, though, features a two-tone white and brown colour scheme with gold “Anniversary Edition” script on the tongue.
Currently, no release date has been announced for the model.
We’ve only got shots of it in low-rise form as well, so it’s unclear if a high-top version will be offered alongside it.
One of Nike’s most important sneaker models, the Air Force 1 was the brand’s first to use the Air sole technology that’s now used broadly across its range today.
Named after the plane used to fly the President of the United States, the shoe found success early on with inner-city youth, and continues to attract a broad buyer set to this day.
