The Nissan GT-R R35 is a true racing legend, but one person has modified the Japanese blueprint to become a secret hypercar, boasting 1,650 horsepower.
It’s considered to be among the best that Japan has ever created, but the Nissan GT-R is actually the perfect canvas for tuners and modifiers to get creative with.
Reaping the rewards from elite JDM enthusiasts, many people have transformed the already-brilliant GT-R models into some of the most powerful cars on the planet.
And this wild 1,650hp beast epitomizes everything beautiful with the racing icon, and its numbers speak for themselves.

This Nissan GT-R R35 has been turbocharged to a secret hypercar
The Nissan GT-R as we know it is dead. Producing its last unit back in August, 2025, the brand ended an 18-year run as the king of Tokyo’s underground.
While we wait with bated breath to see its next-gen successor (of which, the godfather of the GT-R hopes will be gas-powered and not fall into the same electric trap that Dodge has tripped into), the legacy of this series lives on through the imagination of the best tuners the planet has to offer.
The byproduct of this is beasts like this custom Nissan GT-R highlighted on YouTube by Dragy Motorsports.

The white pearl R35 was given a makeover with a list of turbochargers longer than your arm, including an F-Performance rebuilt engine, a Dodson transmission and clutch upgrade, and a boost intake manifold.
Considering that the standard Nissan GT-R R35 only boasts up to 600hp, these mods have put another thousand horses behind the wheels, and it places the car among the most powerful that we’ve ever seen, rivalling even the best hypercars.

The numbers speak for themselves
There’s a lot to live up to when it comes to putting elite Nissan GT-R builds through their paces, with some smashing world records with a claimed 3,500hp behind the wheels.
So, how would this one fare on a drag strip?
Well, in one test running with ethanol 99 fuel, the secret hypercar launched into action and erupted as the boost management kicked into gear on the 100km/h mark.
From there, it climbed to 200km/h in under three seconds, and took another six seconds to tap over the 300km/h goal.
That’s some outrageous pace.
The new Nissan GT-R successor, teased as a UFO-like concept with a solid-state battery powering an electric motor, will likely put a thorn in the side of these types of modifications.
But, if you can get that must post-production power output and combine it with the frightening acceleration that EVs offer, then Nissan could be on the way to having some of the scariest cars the world has ever seen.
