This Corvette was covered in dirt and grime after it was left to fend for itself for decades.

The 1959 C1 Corvette was worn down and in serious need of TLC.

So, to bring the car back into the 21st century, a team of detailers got to work.

It’s time to place your bets on what color you think the shell really is, as at first the truth was hidden.

Red, yellow, pink, blue? You really couldn’t tell, thanks to all of the grime on this Corvette

Sometimes, cars can get left to the ravages of nature, thanks to them not being driven or moved for long periods.

That is exactly what happened to this first-generation Corvette, as a team of detailers came to the rescue.

YouTubers wd.detailing visited the car in all its mucky glory and were left surprised at the sight.

“This is a 1959 C1 Corvette with the most dirt I’ve ever seen on a car that we’ve ever filmed.

“You can’t even tell what color it is,” explained one of the team members.

The shell of the Chevy was covered from the roof to the bumper, and it was clear that the guys had a tricky task ahead of them.

“There’s not a square inch that is showing any paint,” the creator continued.

The first generation of the Chevy Corvette took the world by storm, first making its debut in 1953.

This particular example was powered by a 283 V8 engine, and while the horsepower remained a mystery, it was clear to see that it once ruled the open road back in its heyday.

The Chevy was a family time capsule

After meeting with the owner, Joe, the detailers were able to establish that the car was bought in 1975 by the owner’s uncle, and it had been in the family for 50 years.

All that was about to change, though, with a new gearhead ready to take on the challenge of restoring the Corvette, but not before a spring clean.

So, in true WD Detailing fashion, the hard graft got underway, and the car soon started to look more like itself.

Underneath all the dirt, a red exterior came to life, and it looked amazing.

Inside the car was cleaned up too, with red instruments appearing alongside the leather seats, along with the gearstick, before the windshield was polished to perfection.

The before and after results really were mind-blowing, as after all, the car was produced in 1959 and has remained completely intact.

It’s a literal time machine.
