Love them or hate them, a school bus will forever be every converter’s dream – they provide ample opportunity to even double or triple space.
Take this couple, for instance; they converted this bus into a handy off-grid home with a sink that turns into an outdoor shower.
This bread truck was even converted into a bread and breakfast on wheels – very savvy and smart, whilst keeping the principle at heart.
This one, though, might take the crown.
Clever craftsman Joel took the school bus from not to hot, even decking it out with blacked-out windows and Bluetooth speakers.
The old vehicle that used to ferry kids to and from school in the noughties has been completely transformed into an off-grid home that could be the perfect accommodation to survive Coachella in.
Saving the planet one school bus at a time
It has even incorporated solar panels into its design – so Joel is saving the planet one light at a time, as well as saving himself hundreds of bucks too.
In fact, the average homeowner in the US could save a whopping $50,000 during a period of 25 years after they install solar panels – according to EnergySage.
That’s not to be sniffed at.
So, it’s eco friendly, can get you places in a hurry, and gives you ultimate privacy, too – what’s not to love?
Well, wait until you see the restroom.
All the gear and every single idea

Perks of the build include RV-style windows, a kitchenette with a funky wood design and even a restroom – proving the days of using blocks in the woods with bears roaming free are long gone.
Joel even used materials from Home Depot – proving anyone could take on a project similar.
It even has a four wheel drive conversion, LED lights and an upgraded transmission – so every part is in great condition.

There’s a restroom with a shower facility for an added bonus.
The outside still looks like a retro school bus too, so like Hannah Montana – you really do get the best of both worlds.
To cap it off, the bus has mighty wheels and blacked-out sides for a monster finish.
So, would you fancy spending a night here?
