For a while, a mystery Batmobile has been spotted driving around Houston, and it has finally been unmasked by news channel ABC13 Houston with a story worthy of Batman himself.

The car has been seen driving around Houston for some time now, but its owner took a leaf out of Batman’s book to keep his identity a closely guarded secret.

He drove around in the car wearing a black mask, just like Batman, keeping his identity under wraps, but he decided the time was right to reveal himself.

The owner is Houston doctor and entrepreneur Abdulla Kudrath, and he shared how he came to own the car, and some memorable moments with it.

This is how Kudrath came to own the Houston Batmobile

As an ’80s baby, Kudrath grew up with this particular version of the Batmobile.

He was five or six years old when the ‘Michael Keaton Batmobile’ was revealed to the world.

This car was originally built as a dragster, and after purchasing it, Kudrath wanted it to be road-legal.

So he and his friends worked on the car to do just that, allowing him to drive it on public roads.

Kudrath even got a mask to wear when he drove it, so the public had no idea who was actually driving the Batmobile.

“When people record and try to see who the driver is, they’d see the mask and their smile got bigger,” said Kudrath.

Kudrath also recently attended an event held for a young boy who had been diagnosed with cancer.

He wore the mask at the event, and when he returned later in a normal car with no mask, nobody recognized him.

These are the other iconic Batmobiles

Over the years, there have been plenty of Batmobiles in both the original comics and in the TV shows.

In the original 1960s TV series, a Lincoln Futura concept car was used to create the Batmobile.

Even today, this remains the most iconic of all Batmobiles ever made.

Tim Burton’s films featured the Batmobile design that Kudrath has been seen driving around in.

Three cars were made for those movies, with two in private collections and one owned by comedian Jeff Dunham.

The cars have gotten crazier as the years have gone on.

The Dark Knight Trilogy features a very different design.

Gone was the sleek machine, and instead, the Batmobile took on a more ‘workhorse’ appearance.

But for many, the 1960s original is still the most famous.
