This passenger filmed another plane in the sky in a video that perfectly showcased the incredible speed of air travel.

Paul Hutchinson was flying from Corfu in Greece back to the UK city of Newcastle when he captured this remarkable footage.

At 36,000 feet over Austria, he got to see a second aircraft in action – from a perspective that not many people get to enjoy.

And you’ll be stunned to see how fast this plane is going.

This footage highlights the speed of air travel

The view out of Hutchinson’s cabin window was nothing short of mesmerizing.

The clouds lay below, dotted about like pieces of cotton.

And among them, a plane soared through the sky.

You’d be forgiven if you couldn’t spot it straight away, as this plane was moving seriously fast.

It streamed through, passing from cloud to cloud.

“I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the speed with which the plane was moving looked so different to what you see from the ground, or what it feels like while in a plane,” Hutchinson told Supercar Blondie.

“It’s quite an eye-opening perspective, seeing just how fast you’re potentially moving while in the air.”

There’s no way to be sure of how fast this particular plane was flying, but an aircraft’s typical cruising speed is between 400mph and 575mph.

It’s hard for the human brain to see something moving at such a speed, admittedly.

Plane POV videos are fascinating to watch

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an inside view from a plane at a high altitude.

Oftentimes, it’s a view from the cockpit that the internet gets treated to.

There was the nail-biting footage from a Dutch pilot landing a Boeing 737 in crosswinds, while an Airbus A330 pilot showed off his landing gracefully.

And that’s not forgetting the taking off process either – we’ve seen fascinating footage of that from an Airbus A380.
