Harley-Davidson motorcycles are heavy – and we mean very heavy.
Which is why you generally don’t want to try lifting one unless you absolutely have to.
One Pennsylvania man wanted to test out whether anyone could lift his 1,200lb Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
And he offered $1,000 to anyone who might be capable of lifting it.

YouTuber tests Tennessee town with lifting contest
Today’s two-wheeled story comes to us from the town of Middle, Tennessee.
And it also comes to us courtesy of the guys over on the Bikes and Beards YouTube channel.
The presenter starts the video by explaining the nature of the challenge at hand.
And the challenge is simple – can various people lift a series of motorcycles?
The end goal is to lift the heaviest motorcycle in the shop – a 1,200lb Harley-Davidson.
He explains that people will start by attempting to lift the lightest, smallest bike.
Doing so will win the person $20 and the chance to gamble that money by lifting the next bike.
Being able to lift the next bike – a BMW Adventure R 1250 GS – will get you $100.

But it will also give you the chance at winning $1,000 – if you can lift the final boss – a 1,200lb Harley-Davidson.
So, how goes the video, and was anyone able to succeed in this Tennessee challenge?
The first guy up to tackle the challenge uses the wrong technique, but lifts the first bike with ease.
He then tackles the BMW Adventure R 1250 GS; this time, using the right technique.
Again, he is successful in lifting it – and has won himself $120 in the process.
Unfortunately, the 1,200lb Harley-Davidson is simply too heavy to lift.
People start lifting the 1,200lb Harley-Davidson
After a couple of failed attempts, a guy comes past who is a very physically large human.
He lifts the first two bikes with ease before eyeing up the Harley-Davidson next.
And, unbelievably, he is able to lift it – although the guys at the channel did lighten the Harley-Davidson slightly.
With that, we have our first winner of the $1,000 grand prize.

By this point, another few people have been able to successfully run the motorcycle-lifting gauntlet.
And quite a crowd has gathered, too – most of them on their lunch break from the same workplace.
The video ends with the bike moving location to another part of town, where a few gymgoers try their luck.
And yet again, quite a few of them successfully win the $1,000 grand prize.
Do you think you could successfully lift a $1,200lb Harley-Davidson if you tried?
