A 70-year-old pensioner has secured an awesome Range Rover Sport SVR for pennies; however, he has no room at home to keep the luxury SUV.
Welsh retiree Neil Abernethy from Wrexham won the SUV after spending pennies on an online competition for the car, doing it with no expectation of winning.
He was stunned to find out he had won the Range Rover, but he was also gutted that there was nowhere at home to keep it.
All was not lost for Abernethy, however, as he was looking to take an alternative prize home.

How did the pensioner win the Range Rover?
The competition to win the Range Rover was run by BOTB, who specialize in them.
The Welsh retiree had spent just 5p on the stakes for the car and then forgotten about the competition entirely.
While relaxing in the garden, he was approached by BOTB’s presenter Katie Knight.

She led him to the Range Rover Sport SVR in front of his house, revealing he had won the car.
Abernethy’s partner was also involved in the reveal, coordinating it to ensure it was a big surprise.
The Welshman usually entered these competitions as a hobby and never took them too seriously.
There is an alternative to the luxury SUV
While he has nowhere to keep the car, there is an alternative for Abernethy and his partner.
BOTB offers a cash prize alternative if the winner is unable to accept the car as the prize.
This option opened up a bunch of other opportunities for the couple.
The pair have been looking for a new house, and the money would go a long way in securing that.

A holiday to Barbados is also now a possibility.
The couple will, however, go out and celebrate their win with a nice meal and a bottle of champagne.
Under the hood of the Range Rover Sport SVR is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that makes 575hp.
Had he been able to accept the car, Neil Abernethy would have had an SUV capable of 176mph!
