NASA‘s X-59 quiet supersonic aircraft has given both space and plane enthusiasts ‘the chills’ after it was spotted on the runway.

The aircraft reportedly completed its first low-speed taxi test, which allowed the plane to move under its own power, with NASA set to use it as part of the Quesst mission.

The X-59 is set to be able to fly supersonically, but reduce the actual boom sound to just a ‘thump’.

Take a look above as the plane maneuvers on the tarmac, with its unique supersonic abilities and distinct characteristics.
