This revolutionary teardrop-shaped private jet is set to make billionaires feel guilt-free – well, almost – and it was built in California.

Clever company Otto Aviation has conjured up the Phantom 3500 with a unique design.

The aerodynamic engineering genius is sky high, and fuel emissions are at a low.

Plus, it could be in the skies very soon.

The aircraft engineering space is rapidly advancing.

From electrical planes to hypersonic mechanics, the industry is ever-changing.

For example, one supersonic jet from a Texas startup is aiming to undertake 55-minute New York to Paris flights by 2030

Alongside this, the world’s first-ever hydrogen-electric air cargo service is also going to launch in the UK.

But one company has taken new engineering to a whole new level.

Otto Aviation has developed a tear-drop-shaped aircraft, and it could change the plane world forever.

“The Phantom 3500 is Otto Aviation’s next-generation aircraft, engineered to redefine efficiency, range, and performance,” the company stated.

“Built on the revolutionary tech proven by our laminar flow technology demonstrator, the Phantom 3500 delivers transonic speeds at a fraction of the fuel burn, slashing operating costs and emissions.”

“This isn’t just an aircraft — it’s a new category of aviation that combines speed, range, luxury, and sustainability, and Otto is the unchallenged category leader,” it continued.

The plane has a special look that resembles a teardrop and has a cruise altitude of 51,000 ft.

Inside the cabin, ‘Otto’s Super Natural Vision’ means that normal windows have been replaced by ‘state-of-the-art high-definition digital displays that seamlessly integrate real-time external views’, meaning the aircraft is more aerodynamic than ever before.

But, the best bit? The revolutionary aircraft is set to make billionaires feel guilt-free.

The aircraft offers 92 percent less emissions and 50 percent less operating costs thanks to less fuel being used and ‘simplified maintenance’.

There are three virtuous cycles that help achieve the aircraft’s performance alongside laminar flow, and these cycles ‘work together to accelerate efficiency, reduce costs, and redefine the economics of aviation,’ explained the company.

All this tech is set to allow the Phantom to hit the ground running very soon.

“Otto is collaborating closely with regulatory authorities to bring the Phantom 3500 to market and to achieve certification and entry into service in 2030,” the company explained further.

Furthermore, the lower weight of Phantom 3500 means that it has a certification process that is more streamlined than most business jets around.
