POV footage from TrackZone has shown how a ‘phantom F1 car driver’ reacted to being caught by the police after spending six years eluding the cops while driving the Ferrari F1 car on highways.

This all took place in the Czech Republic, and the F1 car had been on their highways since 2019. And while he was tracked down, since he wore a helmet while driving the car, the police could not confirm that it was him.

The car is actually a Dallara GP2/08 used in the GP2 series, but it’s been dressed up to resemble a Ferrari F1 car.

After six years of trying, the police finally caught the driver, and a YouTube video from the man himself showcased what happened next.

How the phantom F1 car driver was finally caught

The video shows the race car on the roads with a Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Murcielago, and a Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 in tow.

Of course, any race car isn’t road-legal unless it’s had major modifications.

So it’s little wonder the police wanted to catch the driver of the Dallara.

To the credit of the convoy, none of them were driving erratically.

This was except for short bursts of speed, but there was no way the Czech police would be outfoxed again.

The team did its best to try to hide the car at their home.

But the police did manage to track them down.

A small standoff ensued with the police and the car’s driver

The F1 car’s driver then had a standoff with the police.

He said they were trespassing on his property after they asked him to get out of the car.

The driver claimed they had to have a court order to enter the property.

The police said they had stopped him for what they called a ‘traffic offense’.

A lot of raised voices and back and forth ensued between the officers and the driver.

It could almost have been something out of a comedy show.

This carried on for some time!

At the very end of the video, the driver did agree to step out of the car.

The video then ends, with the driver keeping his helmet on to not reveal himself to the camera.

Is this the last we see of the phantom F1 car on the Czech motorways?
